Ryan the Teacher – Sort Of

Per the photographic evidence above, yes its true, someone asked me to “teach” young people.  I was at Hajek Elementary School in Burleson, TX today.  Actually, I wasn’t there to teach so much as I was there to discuss my career and how I have had to deal with “Change” in my field.  ANYONE working in radio/broadcasting of any sort is certainly aware of the massive amount of CHANGE we have had to endure in the last decade or so.  Some of it good, some bad BUT lots of it.  Here is a little spot we put together for the class’ Rachel’s Challenge initiative which in a nutshell is a movement to spread kindness.

While I don’t know if there were any future broadcasters in the room, there was certainly a ton of talent!  I figured the whole “Let’s make a commercial” thing might be a bit of a nightmare but I was so wrong.  A room full of one-take-wonders.  I had a really great time and I absolutely understand why teachers do what they do for little pay, even less recognition and an uncertain outlook for positive “Change” in their future.  I have tons of respect for what they do.
