Mike Horn is the Imaging King at B96 in Chicago. I believe that you will notice he does killer imaging, has many other skills beyond producing radio imaging and is a heckuva nice guy.

We continue with Mike Horn and dive a little more into radio and what he does outside Chicago. I ask about the different landscapes and dealing with CHR in 3 of our largest metros.

The idea is to create a few extra tracks, do some settings tweaks and add some plug-ins so that in the future you will have a slew of commonly used vocal tricks, instantly. I wouldn’t say this is the most basic of tricks but is pretty easy. Production 102 (if not 101).
I have made it no secret that I think the work coming out of Australia is pretty amazing. While I can’t just devote my entire site/blog/podcast to Australians, I CAN write up some cool blogs about them. This one started with a pretty simple intro email and then spiraled out […]
Here is a submitted piece from Blog Reader, Talented Voice Artist and Skillful Audio Producer, Brent Sears. He images a local radio station on which this was used but tells me he is on his way to NY for new opportunities. So good luck to him!
Below you will see some more paid and free plugins submitted from around the web and the world. I know, for instance, Lou Medina here at TM and I tried out the Massey Plugs
Today we take a quick stroll over to a quaint little town called…Beirut! Yes, Dan Harper is head of production for Radio One in Beirut, Lebanon. Dan has been all over the world and obviously gets bored easily because he keeps his work coming in from all directions and nations. […]
Here are some tasty imaging treats! Adam Venton, at UKRD in the UK, has just released a new 2012 London Olympics themed Imaging library.
I speak English but others do not. In fact I just looked it up on the very accurate and highly respected intellectual resource, Wikipedia, which makes claims that today Spanish is spoken natively by about 400 million people. Adding in non-native speakers the # rises to almost 500 million. So, […]
These days we are able to use audio in so many different ways insofar as we have many digital tools to tweak it, smash it, expand it, broadcast it, set it to music, share it, etc etc.
Below you will see the plug-ins of choice and surprisingly to me there was almost ZERO overlap. I also make note of favorite FREE plugs when appropriate.
I got to check in with multi-talented Voice Over artist, Neil Wilson, on hi studio setup. Neil is heard on radio, tv in promo, imaging and commercials and I recommend you hit up his website to hear what he does.
This is something I SHOULD have written about much sooner than NOW. BUT I am glad I am able to promote a GREAT cause. Jim Asker, Country Editor at All Access, is a cancer survivor and very active champion for a cure. I will not flood this post with too […]
Gavan Bruderer is a “young gun” in radio imaging production. He works at CC Salt Lake and also Images Z104. The main reason I am featuring him on this edition of 9 1/2 Questions is because he deserves it. BUT another reason is his perspective. He is still very […]
Matt Nikolic works for Fox FM and Triple M, both part of Austereo.
Here is part 2 with Matt Nikolic. Dont forget the show notes section and to follow Matt on twitter @uncleblacko.
I got to check in with a talented Imaging Producer and Sound Designer in Canada. Vancouver to be specific, though he lived other places…as you will read. Rory O’Shea is his name and I grilled him on EVERY damn thing about himself and what he does! All outlined by him […]
A lot of us use Facebook for sharing crap, others use it for looking at crap but still others use it for legit networking and actually acquiring gigs! I assume by now you noticed Facebook changed (hid) any non-fb emails you had posted. If you had yet to notice that, go look, they did.
I would love to say I know the right answer when it comes to applying any types of audio processing plug-ins. BUT sadly the more I work with audio, and different types of audio like voice or guitar or basses or beats, I feel like I know less.
A simple, uplifting photo to enjoy over your holiday! Be safe and enjoy the rare 1 day weekend!
Then, all of a sudden, you send out this Facebook status update – which includes potentially offensive language as you will see
I created a post for the blog over at 360 Country. I will mirror it here but first here is the link to the original article. Would LOVE your feedback there on what radio should be doing. Thanks! ———————————————– I have been, in some way shape or form, producing and/or […]
